Job Killers, Farmers Market, Job Fair & more!

Riders on the Storm, now a classic song from a few decades back by The Doors. It has great keyboards and a background filled with the sound of thunder, rain, and a lyric of warning to the listener: “There’s a Killer on the Road.”  If your business has products that moves in and out of any warehouse in California, be warned… There’s a Killer on the road. Its name is AB701, it is aimed at Warehouses whether they store agricultural products, any grocery items, even dry goods whether bound for Home Depot, Walmart or Nordstrom’s. This bill, AB701, is a JOB KILLER.

AB701 will incentivize frivolous litigation based on vague standards, as it creates a new private right of action, increases Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) litigation, creates a never-ending presumption of retaliation, and creates duplicative regulation in an area Cal/OSHA has already covered.

If you have nothing to do with warehouses, be aware as a consumer (and I know you are) this is exactly what adds unnecessary cost to consumer goods and non-consumer goods generally used in businesses. What we don’t need is another piece of legislation that negatively impacts consumers and businesses by coming down hard on a major economic choke-point such as warehouses.
