The festival runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Orchard Valley Shopping Center (Hwy 120 at Union Rd. in Manteca. The free event features eight venues where authors will discuss their work and answer questions. Other activities include a self-publishing seminar\, a writers? workshop\, cooking demonstrations\, and slam poetry performances. In addition to authors\, the event features gourmet food trucks\, arts and crafts vendors\, live radio broadcasts\, and book sales. Festivities begin with a costume parade\; people of all ages are invited to arrive in costume and join the pageant.
