Lodi Chamber and Open Innovation Centers: Bringing Amazon's AI Technology to Lodi Businesses
Artificial intelligence has quickly become one of the most talked-about business tools in recent years. Business owners hear about it every day. They see articles, videos, webinars, and social media posts promising that AI will transform their organization.
But reading about AI and actually using it are two very different things.
That is why the upcoming AI for Your Business workshop hosted by AWS, Emumba, the Open Innovation Center, Cloud Kinetics, and the Lodi District Chamber of Commerce is so valuable. Instead of spending another evening listening to presentations about artificial intelligence, participants will spend time working directly with Amazon Quick, experimenting with real business scenarios that mirror the challenges organizations face every day.
One of the most exciting parts of this event is the partnership behind it. Through its collaboration with the Open Innovation Center, the Lodi District Chamber of Commerce is bringing the expertise and resources of Amazon Web Services directly to our local business community. Large organizations have invested billions of dollars developing AI tools that improve productivity, streamline operations, and support better decision making. By partnering with AWS and the Open Innovation Center, we're helping make those same resources accessible to businesses right here in Lodi. Our goal is simple. Help local businesses become more productive, more profitable, and better prepared to compete in an economy where AI is becoming an everyday business tool.
Over the past year, I've integrated AI into nearly every part of my work as President and CEO of the Lodi District Chamber of Commerce. It has become much more than a writing assistant. It has become a strategic partner that helps me think faster, organize information, and accomplish work that previously required entire teams of consultants.
For example, AI helps analyze hundreds of pages of city council agendas, budgets, strategic plans, ordinances, and financial reports. Instead of spending days reading documents individually, I can quickly identify trends, compare multiple reports, and focus my attention on the issues that matter most.
When our Chamber prepares advocacy positions, AI helps summarize proposed legislation, identify impacts on local businesses, and draft member communications. It has also transformed strategic planning by comparing plans from cities, counties, school districts, economic development organizations, tourism agencies, and our own strategic plan to identify shared priorities and opportunities for collaboration.
Marketing has changed as well. AI helps create blog articles, newsletters, LinkedIn posts, social media campaigns, speeches, event descriptions, sponsorship packets, surveys, and email sequences. What once took several days can often be completed in a single afternoon while still allowing me to review, edit, and personalize every piece before it reaches our members.
Operations have benefited just as much. I've used AI to redesign workflows, evaluate staffing structures, develop board governance documents, create event planning systems, organize committee work, build project plans, and compare software platforms before making purchasing decisions.
Perhaps most importantly, AI has improved decision making. Instead of asking, "Can AI write this document?" I now ask, "Can AI help me think through this problem?"
Amazon Quick brings those capabilities into an organization's everyday workflow. It connects information across documents, business systems, and collaboration tools so employees spend less time searching for information and more time acting on it. It also includes AI chat, collaborative workspaces, workflow automation, analytics, and connections to the business tools organizations already use.
The upcoming workshop removes many of the biggest barriers to AI adoption. You don't need to know how to write code, and you don't need previous AI experience.
You'll bring your laptop, work alongside experienced engineers from Emumba, and begin solving real business challenges in marketing, finance, operations, and human resources. Participants will also receive AWS credits to continue experimenting after the event, making it easy to keep learning once they return to the office.
Every major technology shift creates two groups of businesses. One group waits until everyone else has figured it out. The other group experiments early, learns quickly, and discovers competitive advantages long before AI becomes standard practice.
AI isn't about replacing employees. It's about helping people accomplish more meaningful work by reducing repetitive tasks, improving decision making, and giving businesses more time to focus on serving customers and growing their organizations.
If you're curious about AI but aren't sure where to begin, this workshop is an ideal starting point. You'll leave with practical experience, new ideas, and a clearer understanding of how AI can improve your own organization.
Register today and take the first step toward making AI a practical advantage for your business.
