Community Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired invites bicyclists to the ninth Pedaling Paths to Independence on Saturday, February 25, 2017. A great ride on ANY bike, the metric (65 miles with 1,300 feet of elevation gain) and quarter (25 miles with 300 feet of elevation gain) century routes begin and end at DeVinci’s Delicatessen and Catering Linden (18847 East Front Street, Linden) and traverse the quiet rural roads of San Joaquin, Stanislaus, and Calaveras counties, through verdant pastures, orchards, and vineyards. Riders may check in and ride any time between 8:30 a.m. and 10:00 a.m.; everyone must be on the course by 10:00 a.m. Fees ($45.00 for the metric century, $40.00 for the quarter century) include pastoral scenery, maps and route sheets, pre-ride technical support, radio communications, and fully stocked rest stops. Riders and guests will end the day with a scrumptious post ride meal catered by DeVinci’s Delicatessen and Catering–Linden and entertainment by Creative Sounds DJ and Sound Services. PhotoCrazy will capture images of riders on the road, available for purchase after the event. Register online through February 21—no additional fee—at http://www.pedalingpaths.com. Or, download a registration form and mail your entry by February 11, 2017. Riders must be at least 16 years of age; each rider must sign a waiver at the event. Proceeds allow Community Center for the Blind to provide the information, tools, and resources that empower and inspire people who are blind or visually impaired to achieve their full potentials.
